The Approach
-
Step 1
I'm not a regular therapist. I am a cool therapist! If you get this reference, I may be the therapist for you!
In our initial moments, we will create an environment of safety, comfort, trust, and cultural understanding. Our therapeutic relationship will play a role in our work, which aids in laying a solid foundation.
Before we dive into your struggles or your reasons for seeking therapy, we will identify your goals, intentions, and what you hope to receive from the therapeutic process. Working backward in this way provides a better map of how we will work toward your desired destination. -
Step 2
Now that we're rockin', we'll get rollin'.
Using an Adlerian approach, we will make detailed notes of your past relationships, including family, friends, school, work, and your environment.By exploring your childhood memories and personal perspectives about yourself and the world, we will be future-focused while acknowledging how your past plays an essential role in your growth and progression.
-
Step 3
A recollection of your previous social, romantic, familial, financial, emotional, and sexual relationships provides clarity around automatic thoughts (both conscious and unconscious). Recollection allows reflection regarding your attachment styles and core beliefs, bringing up suppressed feelings and thoughts.
We will integrate the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) cycle to bring awareness to how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors connect. Other approaches and modalities include: Solutions Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and mind, body, and spiritual assessments through Somatic Experiencing and movement. From past life experiences to the present moment, we will bridge gaps to help you with life alignment and balance, providing you with more insight and self-awareness. -
Step 4
Now, for everyone's favorite part.
When psychoeducation, skills, tools, regulation techniques, and takeaways come in, you’ll start implementing what you know. Together, we will collaborate to see what is or is not working and then adjust accordingly.
As we dive into your past, we will also process day-to-day events in real time as I help facilitate the implementation of any learned skills and techniques. -
Graduation
As a therapist, I love seeing my clients “graduate” from therapy. There will not be an award ceremony, but you can bet I will be the number one person cheering by your side.
The goal is for you to learn, grow, heal, and live out the journey you’ve always desired. Following your graduation, weekly sessions will transition from biweekly to monthly. Sessions will ultimately be conducted based on your needs.

The Follow Up
A common misconception is that therapy simply stops. However, this is false.
You can return to therapy as you see fit. The main importance is mental fitness and maintenance.
